2000
The 2000 season was characterized by rains at the beginning of the spring followed by a long period of sunshine. A mild summer with scattered rains prevented drought, while the heat during the second half of August favored the sugar concentration of the grapes which ripened early, rich with tannins and with excellent fruit fragrances.
Tasting Notes:
Luce 2000, ruby red in color, has an extremely intense bouquet offering an array of fruit fragrances. Currants and wild strawberries weave into spicier aromas of liquorice and cloves enhanced by notes of tobacco. On the palate, the entry is soft and enticing, with an acidity that blends into the wine's great structure and tannins. The finish is complex and persistent.
Varietal Composition: 60% Merlot, 40% Sangiovese
