1994
The mild weather in the spring of 1994 resulted in early phenological development (budbreak, shoot development and flowering). The summer was dry but temperatures were cooler in September compared to the previous year. When harvested the last week of September, the Merlot had already reached fully developed flavors and exceptionally soft tannins. The Sangiovese, with outstanding flavor maturity, was harvested the second week of October.
Tasting Notes
The 1994 Luce has deep, ruby ink color, heralding the wine's quality. Bright, aromatic, and highly extracted flavors display notes of raspberries, spices, violets and dried herbs. Complex nuances of roasted mocha and vanilla linger in the background. The structure is extremely elegant, with fine, well-balanced tannins and a long finish. Its greatest potential will emerge during aging.
