1995
The growing season of spring and summer contrasted with the great weather that culminated the vintage. The blossoming of the vines was atypical; low spring temperatures delayed development of the buds and flowers. Summer was not as hot as usual in Montalcino, but rather rainy and humid. In September, however, the quality of the vintage became evident. Plenty of sunshine and perfect temperatures ensured a gradual and progressive maturation.

Tasting Notes:
Luce 1995 has an intense violet color, with opulent layers of fruit flavors such as crushed blackberries, black currants, and plums. Nuances of chocolate and anise are further enhanced by notes of vanilla. There is a wonderful balance of fine tannins, excellent structure and a long, elegant finish.

Varietal Compsition 50% Sangiovese, 50% Merlot

Awards: Luce '95 is rated number 41 among Wine Spectator's Top 100 Wines .
