1996
Due to the low temperatures of March and April, budding and flowering were a few days late. Good weather, with regular rains, during the summer helped to recuperate the time lost in the spring. Veraison, when the grapes begin to color and soften, began, as expected in a regular season, the first week of August. Frequent rains in September slowed the development once again. Leaf pulling and fruit thinning allowed the grapes to reach the ideal sugar and acid maturation for the production of a great wine.

Tasting Notes:
Luce 1996 has an intense, almost inky violet color with deep fruit aromas interwoven with nuances of vanilla and spices from oak aging. This full bodied wine with velvety tannins gives the impression of warmth, and richness with a persistent long finish.

Varietal Composition: 60% Sangiovese, 40% Merlot
